Spacedeck

The Spacedeck is an observation deck. The floor under the main area is glass, and you can walk on it. It does not drop you through. Windows, the main display, a table, consoles, and columns are solid. Walk around them.

The deck opens on the system named Solar System: the star and planets that system actually contains. It does not assume a particular checklist beyond that name.

What the screen shows

Approach the display, the table, or a console, then press E or Open. A panel lists the catalog. Choosing a body updates the screen and highlights it on the table.

Planets lead with the measurements on file, which can include radius, mass, gravity, orbital period, average surface temperature, and density. The panel can also show axial tilt, escape velocity, eccentricity, perihelion, aphelion, rotation direction, and whether the body is classed as a dwarf. Stars lead with spectral class, surface temperature, radius, and luminosity, and may also show mass, gravity, age, metallicity, rotation, and magnetic activity.

Empty measurements are omitted. Realm does not fill them. Colouring a star from its spectral letter is only a display convention, not a measured colour. Planet pictures are illustrations. If a picture is missing, you still get a plain stand-in, and the numbers that exist remain.

The table draws the current system’s star and planets in catalog order. Spacing follows orbit size when that figure exists, on a compressed scale, and the drawing is labelled as a diagram. It is not true astronomical scale. Bodies without an orbit size stay in catalog order, and the panel says so.

The wider catalog

The same panel, and the Space page, can list galaxies, clusters, and systems, not only the Solar System. Filters narrow that list. Open a system to read its stars and planets. You are browsing one system at a time, not every body in the catalog at once.

The hub’s “On the deck” strip may name a few Solar System bodies. It is a sample of what the catalog returned. These docs do not repeat that list, because it is the catalog’s, not a fixed poster.

When the catalog cannot be read

The room still opens. The panel shows the error and a retry. It does not replace the missing catalog with example planets or round numbers. Use Space if you only need the list, and retry from there as well if the page reports the same failure.
