Files
Harness keeps your settings on the machine you installed it on. Nothing here is a Scopa account, and nothing here is synced for you.
On macOS and Linux
| Path | What it holds |
|---|---|
~/.config/scopacli/config.toml | Providers, and the default mode |
~/.config/scopacli/mcp.json | Servers you start |
~/.config/scopacli/modes/ | Your mode overrides |
~/.config/scopacli/keys/ | Keys saved by auth |
~/.local/share/scopacli/sessions/ | Transcripts |
~/.local/share/scopacli/logs/ | Local logs, without API keys |
A mode file in modes/ replaces the built-in mode of the same name. See Modes.
Logs are for you, on this computer. They are written so they do not contain API keys. Do not treat a log as a place to store a secret yourself.
On Windows
The same folders sit under your user profile, not under AppData. You will see config.toml, mcp.json, modes, keys, sessions, and logs in that layout. The names match the table above.
A project overlay
A project may contain a .scopacli folder. Settings there overlay your user config for that repository only. Another repository does not pick them up.
What stays after uninstall
Removing the app does not delete these folders. Delete them yourself if you want the keys and transcripts gone. Export a transcript first if you still need it. Export strips secrets. See Sessions.
